Sharing your information

Subprocessors, organisers, and data leaving Uganda.

We engage third parties — see our Subprocessors List — to help operate our services. They are contractually bound to protect your data and to act only under our instruction.

The organiser becomes the controller. If you buy a ticket, your information such as name and contact may be shared with the event organiser, who becomes the Data Controller for that data under Ugandan law. TKT acts as a Data Processor on their behalf.

Some data may be stored or processed outside Uganda, for example on Google Cloud or AWS. Where that happens we ensure that:

  • Data is transferred only to countries with adequate protections, or
  • We have contractual safeguards in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or
  • We obtain your explicit consent, where that is necessary.
06

Data security

What protects it, and what happens if that fails.

We protect your data with:

  • TLS/SSL encryption.
  • Role-based access control.
  • Two-factor authentication for administrative access.
  • Regular audits and vulnerability scans.
  • Staff training in data protection.

If there is a breach. We will notify affected users and the Personal Data Protection Office in Uganda within 72 hours of a data breach, as the law requires.

07

How long we keep it

While your account lives, or the law requires.

We retain personal data:

  • For as long as your account is active.
  • As necessary for legal or contractual obligations.
  • Or until you request deletion, subject to legal exceptions.

We securely delete or anonymise data that is no longer needed.

08

Your rights

Eight of them, and how to use one.

Under Ugandan data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access your data.
  • Have it corrected.
  • Have it erased.
  • Object to its processing.
  • Restrict its processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Be informed.
  • Lodge a complaint.

To exercise any of these, email info@ticket.ug. We will respond within 30 days.

09

Children's privacy

Not directed at under-18s.

Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors unless a parent or guardian provides verifiable consent.

If you believe a child has provided us personal data without consent, contact info@ticket.ug.

10

Changes and contact
